Thomas Lawrence was convicted of grand larceny and escape and sentenced to hang. Execution not confirmed.

He was a butcher from Moulsham in Chelmsford, Essex.

On 20 December 1605 at East Hanningfield he stole a sheep (5s) from George Griggs and 3 sheep (10s. 4d.) from Thomas Griggs.

On 20 December 1605 he was arrested on a warrant issued by Sir Humphrey Mildmay, JP and committed to Timothy Marchall, constable of Hockley, for carriage to Colchester gaol. On 24 December at Writtle he escaped.
